James W. Carr bought the 243 acre farm in 1887. Previously owned by Edward or Edwin Gaines. There were related. Pendleton Gaines, who was buried here in 1849 doesn't seem to have ever owned the property, but was a reletive of the owner. He might be the first person buried here. Read the deed
